Garden of Trust

by MissT

Love after divorce takes a gentler start,
not butterflies racing, but peace for the heart.
Not fleeting sparks that vanish too fast,
but a steady flame that’s built to last.

The eyes grow wiser through sorrow and pain,
they know what to cherish, what not to sustain.
Red flags are warnings, no longer disguised,
truth is the compass of love when it’s wise.

It’s not the diamonds or tables of gold,
but the kindness in gestures, the stories retold.
The way someone listens, the care when they stay,
the quiet devotion shown day after day.

It’s coffee waiting at morning’s first light,
a promise of presence that feels just right.
It’s respect in their actions, their words ringing true,
a love that holds steady and honours you too.

After divorce the journey is slow,
trust is a garden that takes time to grow.
Brick after brick, the walls fall away,
for hands that are gentle and choose to stay.

This love is calmer, deeper, more sure,
a shelter where spirit can safely endure.
Divorce is not where the story will end,
but where broken hearts begin to mend.

Fairytales live in the brave who survive,
proof that the soul can flourish, revive.
And here in the glow of the life you renew,
the happy ending belongs, at last, to you.
