Trembling Wings

Life has bound you in stillness,and I see the storm hidden behind your gaze.The ghost of you drifts in the glass of my reflection,fragile, almost gone. Let me breathe my fire into your lungs.Let me mend the torn feathers of your flight.I will watch you rise —higher than the reach of angels. Come — only…

Life has bound you in stillness,
and I see the storm hidden behind your gaze.
The ghost of you drifts in the glass of my reflection,
fragile, almost gone.

Let me breathe my fire into your lungs.
Let me mend the torn feathers of your flight.
I will watch you rise —
higher than the reach of angels.

Come — only three steps forward.
Only the courage to begin.
The dawn is new, the page unturned;
together, we will read it,
slowly, line by trembling line,
until the last word is ours.
