Better Late Than Never. by MissT

I found her
Not in a mirror
but in a moment
no one else saw

She wasn’t loud
She wasn’t proud
She didn’t need fixing
just a space to be

I found her in silence
in singing
in soft rebellion
In pages I wrote
when no one was watching

She’d been waiting
Not broken
just buried
under survival

Not lost
just quiet
beneath the noise
of who I thought I had to be

I found her
And she looked at me
with tired eyes
and whispered
“You’re late
but I forgive you”
