Welcome to my Fire

by MissT

In the depths of your alcoholic slumber
I watched you sleep and stir.
The words you used to cut me
Still leave my head a blur.

You said you loved me dearly,
Yet hardly left your flat
But ran errands for your ex
And bought things for her cat.

Four kisses in your messages
To her, while mine got two.
You tried to make a fool of me
But, my dear, the fool is you.

I gave you love and loyalty,
Begged for your affection back,
Yet all I was was carer,
Rubbing cream into your back.

You couldn’t go out drinking with me,
But travelled to supply her drugs.
You never came to my home at all
I really was a mug.

You never found the urge to touch me,
Yet took all I had to give:
Comedy tickets, a new table
And lies I can’t forgive.

You said you preferred women
With less weight and smaller breasts.
You’ll never know how deep your words
Have carved into my chest.

I uncovered your dishonesty,
And for that was called a liar.
It upset you, didn’t it?
Well, welcome to the fire. 🔥

Your deceit and your betrayals
Have led us to the end.
The hurt runs far too deep in me
I can’t even call you friend.
