Are You in Love, or Just Distracted?

by MissT

Hello, my loves ❤️ 😍 💖

Let’s not dress it up — most people don’t fall in love. They fall into distraction.

You mistake adrenaline for affection.
Attention for intimacy.
Chaos for connection.

And when it quiets down, you call it heartbreak. But here’s the truth: you don’t miss them. You miss the noise that kept you from hearing your own thoughts.

The Hollow Days

When life feels empty, anyone who wanders in looks like treasure.

You give them the spotlight, not because they’re rare, but because you’re restless.

I’ve sat through pool games, aching for affection, realising it wasn’t love holding me there — it was boredom dressed up as romance.

You don’t need them. You need to fill your own silence.

The Hard Truth

Most of what people call love is just novelty.

A ping on your phone at midnight.
Being called “beautiful” when you haven’t even brushed your hair.
Laughing at the same tired jokes as if they’re brand new.

Different doesn’t mean special.
It just means new.
And when your life feels flat, “new” feels like oxygen.

Real Love Is Ordinary

Here’s the part nobody likes: real love isn’t fireworks.

It’s ordinary.

It’s the steady choice to return when the thrill has faded.
It’s peace in silence as much as spark in conversation.
It’s choosing them again and again — even when distraction isn’t part of the deal.

If you only want them when it’s exciting, that’s not love. That’s entertainment.

So Ask Yourself…

Do you love them — or just the way they break your monotony?

Do you want them — or the rush of being wanted?

Strip away the games, the late-night chatter, the chaos.
If nothing’s left, it was never love. It was a pastime.

Maybe it was never about them at all. Maybe it was about the version of you that came alive in their presence.

And maybe it’s time to give that energy back to yourself.
Pick up the pen. Lace your shoes. Create your own noise.

Because boredom lies. It’ll chain you to people you were never meant to keep.

This is me — MissT, with fire and grace.x
