“The Parasite”
by MissT

I built you temples out of sorrow,
Lit candles with my breath,
Prayed you’d wake a god tomorrow —
You only worshipped death.

You drank the moon to drown your guilt,
And bled your dreams for wine.
I fed your hunger, soft and spilt,
Till ruin became divine.

Your kiss was opium, dark and sweet,
A venom dressed in lace.
You drained me in the half-light’s heat,
Then vanished without trace.

You wore your grief like saintly cloth,
But sin dripped through the seams.
A chalice cracked, a lover’s wroth,
A graveyard full of dreams.

I was the flame that fed your night,
The pulse beneath your art,
But I have torn your fangs from light —
And buried you from my heart.

Now let your demons drink alone,
In taverns cold and dire.
For I have turned my skin to stone,
And left you to the mire.
