When you’re lonely and,

Your eyes fight the tears

The ache in your body

That’s been with you for years

The dread in your gut

The dreams in the nightI

Insomnia starts

And you just don’t feel right

The mess that surrounds you

Just can’t be seen

For your mind is elsewhere

With your hearts might have been

The eyes that were shining

Are now tired and dim

And the body you long for

Is gone on a whim

So we get older,

The way we look fades

Instead there’s some old fool

Playing a charade

Where did the youth go?

My smile and my zest?

The warmth of the sun days

The love in my chest

In time we lose so many folk

Our family, our friends

It’s really no joke.

So hold love ones tighter

And embrace every storm

Chase every rainbow
