“Let Them Be Tired” by MissT

Let them be tired, let them roll eyes,Let them dismiss me with shallow goodbyes.Let them forget how I held up the sky,While choking on storms and learning to fly. Let them forget how I caught every tear,When the silence around them was louder than fear.I stitched broken hearts with threads of my own,While no one…

Let them be tired, let them roll eyes,
Let them dismiss me with shallow goodbyes.
Let them forget how I held up the sky,
While choking on storms and learning to fly.

Let them forget how I caught every tear,
When the silence around them was louder than fear.
I stitched broken hearts with threads of my own,
While no one asked how I’d managed alone.

Let them call me obsessed, like love is a crime,
As if healing comes neat, or keeps perfect time.
But I’m not ashamed of the way that I feel
This heart of mine? It’s stubborn. It’s real.

I showed up for them, no clock, no pay,
Cooked meals, wiped tears, gave time away.
Now I’m reclaiming the fire they forgot I had
And if they find that inconvenient? Too bad.

Let them forget. I’ll remember it all.
Every climb, every stumble, each near-fatal fall.
I rose from the ashes, they just saw the flame
But I carried the match and I earned this name.

So let them be tired, let them move on.
I’ll be right here, ink sharp, spirit strong.
Not waiting for praise, not needing a crowd
I’m healing in silence… but damn it, I’m proud.
